P. de Rothschild (1902-1988), war der Ur-Enkel von Baron Nathaniel de Rothschild, der 1853 das Weingut als Château Brane Mouton erworben und in „Château Mouton-Rothschild“ umbenannt hatte, führte in den 20er und 30er Jahren ein Leben als Playboy, nahm seit 1928 an Grand Prix Rennen (Grand Prix de Nizza, 24 Stunden von Le Mans, Circuit de Monaco) und als Segler an den Olympischen Spielen 1928 in Amsterdam teil. Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg wird das Etikett des Château Mouton-Rothschild in jedem Jahr von einem zeitgenössischen Künstler gestaltet. Salvador Dalí (1958), Joan Miró (1969), Marc Chagall (1970), Pablo Picasso (1973) und Georg Baselitz (1989, das „Mauerfall“-Etikett). – Schuber an den Kanten berieben und an einer Kante etwas eingerissen, Rücken berieben und angestaubt, Teile der Deckel durch eine Aussparung des Schubers angestaubt, sonst sehr gut erhalten. – Not in the relevant bibliographies. – One of 225 num. P. de Rothschild (1902-1988), was the great-grandson of Baron Nathaniel de Rothschild, who had acquired the estate as Château Brane Mouton in 1853 and renamed it “Château Mouton-Rothschild”, led a life as a playboy in the 1920s and 1930s, took part in Grand Prix races from 1928 (Grand Prix de Nice, 24 Hours of Le Mans, Circuit de Monaco) and as a sailor in the 1928 Olympic Games in Amsterdam. After the Second World War, the Château Mouton-Rothschild label was designed by a contemporary artist every year.
