Clergue für Charlotte Reber-Bodmer vom 29. 1. 1996. – „La première image de ce livre est pour lui sa première bonne photographie, encore timide, vue de la fenêtre de sa chambre, en 1953. Les gitans faisaient halte à Arles avant d’aller au pèlerinage des Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. Pris de passion il les photographiés année par année y rencontrant des familles du sud mais aussi venues de Paris, du nord, et de Europe de l’Est et les la suivis sur d’autres sites plus tard. C’est dans l’une des ces roulottes qu’il découvrit Manitas de Plata et contribua à le rendre célèbre. Photographian famille et celle de José Reyes, il prenait sur le vif „les petits“ devenus plus tard les Gypsy Kings. La plupart de ces images réalisées entre 1953 et 1965 inédites. Certaines inspirèrent à Jean Cocteau trois fresques de la calle Saint-Pierre à Villefranche-sur-Mer“ (T. Gatlif). – Die Widmungsempfängerin ist die Wittwe des Schweizer Malers und Mediziners Willy Reber (1922-1995). – Sehr gutes Exemplar. Erste Ausgabe. – Eines von 25 Exemplaren der Vorzugsausgabe von J. M. Horvath und G. Stalter signiert mit sign. Silbergelatineabzug (GA 1000 Exemplare). – Die ungarischen Fotografen J. M. Horváth (geb. 1952) und G. Stalter (geb. 1956) porträtieren Roma aus verschiedenen ungarischen Orten. Die Aufnahmen entstanden von 1981 bis 1997. – „György Stalter started to make photos of Roma during his student years at the Franciscans in Esztergom. Judit M. Horváth, who after falling in love with her husband, fell in love with his work, photography, was reluctant to accept her identity for a long time, and yet eventually she became the chief-editor of a Romani paper, Amaro Drom for several years. The two of them photographed through practically all the Gypsy settlements of Hungary (in 1993, 13 percent of the five hundred thousand Roma in the country still lived in settlements), and the ghetto-like parts of districts in Budapest“ (G.
