CNCE 23778. – Erste Ausgabe. – Seltenes, gegen die Juden und Ketzer gerichtetes Werk des Dominikaners P. Minerva (1560-1645) über den Gregorianischen und den hebräischen Kalender. Enthält auf S. 276 auch einen kurzen Vermerk über die Beobachtungen von N. Kopernicus. – „Little is known about the Domonican Paolo Minerva (Bari, 1560-Naples, 1645), teacher, preacher and author of works on natural philosophy. Thondike traced an anti-Copernican strand in his De praecognoscendis (1616), due to the reading of Gilbert’s De magnete. In his early days, he was a friend to Giovan Vincenzo Della Porta and his De neomeniis (1599) reveals that he supported the Copernican tables underlying the calender reform“ (M.
